  1. My Diet is Better Than Yours was no TGIT
Angel From Hell was in line with the Wednesday comedies 1.6’s
I really didn’t expect Shade of Blue to grow out of The Blacklist. NBC should be happy they (might have) fixed one problem on Thursdays.

    • Those are better ratings for Shades than I had thought. There was not a huge drop at the half in viewers and demo remained the same. Interesting.

  2. Not entirely surprised by SOB’s ratings. The show was endlessly promoted and there are billboards, etc everywhere in my city. I also wonder if FOX’s American Idol audience from 8-10 carried over to NBC at 10PM and helped them out a bit.

AFH actually did a lot better than I thought it would. It held on pretty well from its Mom lead in.

The Diet show was kind of a bust, and coupled with BL under performing on Monday, maybe the weight loss genre needs a rest?

Lastly, I realize that CW was in repeats, but coming in at a distant 8th place behind ION, Univision and Telemundo has to be a little concerning.

    • it will drop for sure, but not by much, since that’s the path with procedural and old-skewing. I think it will stabilize ~ 1.4-1.5. Some if its audience will switch to ABC original programming since you can bet SOB skew heavily female.

    • I don’t get why ABC felt they needed a second fitness/weight loss show on their schedule when Extreme Weight Loss never really gave them great numbers either.

  3. CBS Thursday Live + Same Day Highlights

“ELEMENTARY” POSTS SEASON HIGHS IN VIEWERS, A18-49 AND A25-54

“MOM” MATCHES SEASON BEST A18-49 RATING

THE SERIES PREMIERE OF “ANGEL FROM HELL” POSTS THE TIME PERIOD’S BEST DELIVERY IN VIEWERS THIS SEASON WITH A FIRST-RUN REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM

“THE BIG BANG THEORY” IS THURSDAY’S MOST WATCHED AND HIGHEST RATED PROGRAM IN KEY DEMOS

“LIFE IN PIECES” MATCHES ITS SECOND BEST A18-49 RATING

At 8:00 PM, THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in viewers (15.73m), A18-49 (3.8) and A25-54 (5.4), the night’s top program in all these measures.

At 8:30 PM, LIFE IN PIECES averaged 9.44m, 2.2 in A18-49 (nc from last first-run episode on 12/17) and 3.1 in A25-54. LIFE IN PIECES matched its second best A18-49 rating.

At 9:00 PM, MOM averaged 8.76m, 1.8 in A18-49 (nc from its season high for its last first-run episode on 12/17) and 2.8 in A25-54. MOM delivered its second largest audience of the season and second best A25-54 rating.

At 9:30 PM, the series premiere of ANGEL FROM HELL averaged 8.04m (up +15% from 6.97m from “2 Broke Girls” last first-run episode in the time period), 1.6 in A18-49 (nc) and 2.4 in A25-54. ANGEL FROM HELL posted the time period’s best delivery with a first run-regularly scheduled entertainment program this season in viewers and matched the second best adults 18-49 rating.

At 10:00 PM, ELEMENTARY delivered season highs in viewers (6.71m), A18-49 (1.2, up +20% from its last first-run episode on 12/17) and 1.8 in A25-54 (up +13% from 1.6).

  4. From NBC:

The debut of “Shades of Blue” (1.8/6 in 18-49, 8.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):

    · Wins the slot among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures.

    · Is the first in-season NBC regular entertainment programming to win Thursday at 10 in 18-49 versus original ABC and CBS competition in nearly six years (since March 4, 2010 with “The Marriage Ref,” 3.5; beating CBS’s “Mentalist,” 3.2; and ABC’s “Private Practice,” 2.7)

    · Is the first in-season NBC regular programming to win Thursday at 10 versus original ABC and CBS competition in total viewers in nearly eight years, since March 27, 2008 (with “The Apprentice,” 12.2 million; topping NCAA Basketball on CBS, 9.4 million; and “Eli Stone” on ABC, 6.5 million).

    · Captures NBC’s top rating in the slot with in-season regular programming in nearly four years (since March 1, 2012, “Awake,” 2.0).

    · Is NBC’s most-watched in-season regular programming in the slot in nearly seven years (since April 16, 2009, “Southland,” 9.6 million).

    · Grows +13 versus its “Blacklist” lead-in (1.8 vs. 1.6).

    · Is up +64% versus NBC’s season average in the slot (1.8 vs. 1.1, L+SD non-sports).

    · Is NBC’s top Thursday drama debut in 18-49 in nearly four years (since March 1, 2012, “Awake,” 2.0), topping NBC’s prior seven Thursday drama premieres (excludes the return of “Heroes”).

    · Is NBC’s most-watched Thursday debut in nearly seven years (since April 9, 2009, “Southland,” 9.9 million).

  5. From ABC:

Beyond the Tank (8-9 – 4.3 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49): Premiering in its regular 8pm time period, ABC’s Beyond the Tank outdrew NBC’s original Heroes Reborn in the hour by 16% among Total Viewers (4.3 million vs. 3.7 million) and caught the time-period regular among Adults 18-49 (1.0/3). Beyond the Tank improved its hour year to year for ABC by 30% in Total Viewers and by 11% in Adults 18-49 (over original programming). And excluding Grey’s Anatomy, Beyond the Tank delivered ABC’s best in-season series Adults 18-49 rating in the time slot in almost 2 years – since 3/27/14.

My Diet is Better than Yours (9-11pm – 2.4 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49): From 9-11pm opposite strong all-original competition on the other major nets, including Fox’s Thursday premiere of American Idol (9-10pm), CBS’ debut of Angel from Hell (9:30-10pm) and NBC’s debut of Shades of Blue (10-11pm), ABC’s debut of My Diet is Better than Yours held completely steady in each half-hour during its 2-hour telecast in Adults 18-49 (0.7/2). In addition the show grew from its first to second hour in Adults 18-34 (+25%) and Women 18-49 (+13%).

  6. I think that is the first time NBC had a show that actually grew out of the Blacklist. IF the show can stay in line with the Blacklist numbers, it will be renewed.
