‘Dick Van Dyke Show’ Star Ann Morgan Guilbert Dies at 87

Ann Morgan Guilbert, who is remembered for her co-starring roles on sitcoms “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “The Nanny,” died in Los Angeles of cancer on Tuesday. She was 87.

Born on October 16, 1928 in Minneapolis, Guilbert launched her career as a featured performer and singer in cabaret act “Billy Barnes Revues” of the 1950s and 1960s. After early TV guest star roles on series like “My Three Sons” and “Hennesey,” Guilbert began her five season stint on “The Dick Van Dyke Show” in 1961. After the “Dick Van Dyke Show” she made guest appearances in many other television shows, including “Adam-12” “The Andy Griffith Show,” “Love, American Style,” “That Girl,” “Dragnet,” “Picket Fences,” “Seinfeld,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” She had a recurring role on “The Nanny,” starring Fran Drescher, as Grandma Yetta, and more recently appeared on HBO dramedy “Getting On” from 2013-15. Her final on-screen appearance was on CBS sitcom “Life in Pieces.”

Guilbert is survived by her two daughters.
