Don Lemon Departs From CNN

On the heels of the firing of Tucker Carlson by Fox News comes news that Don Lemon has departed from CNN. Lemon’s also abrupt exit stems from a recently published story on allegations that he mistreated his female colleagues. Earlier this year he faced backlash over various criticized comments he made on the air.

Lemon announced the news on Twitter, saying he was informed by his agent that he was being terminated.

“I am stunned,” Lemon wrote. “After 17 years at CNN I would have thought someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly.”

“CNN and Don have parted ways,” CNN said in a statement. “Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”

The network said. Lemon’s current morning show, which he hosted with Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins, will continue.
