Florida Gators Earn First Buzzer-Beater Win of 2017 NCAA March Madness

The first 59 games were played in the 2017 NCAA Div. I Mens Basketball Tournament with none of them ending with a buzzer-beating winning shot nor entering into overtime.

Then, game No. 60 took place — the East regional semifinal between the Wisconsin Badgers and the Florida Gators from New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Mar. 24.

With four seconds remaining in overtime and Wisconsin up 83-81, Florida guard Chris Chiozza goes the length of the court and hit a wild, running three-point shot in a leap-and-dive motion towards the basket to win the game for his Gators 84-83, advancing to the Elite Eight — the East region final versus South Carolina.

Legendary announcer Verne Lundquist called the action for TBS.
