Streamer HBO Max has announced a limited spin-off series tentatively titled “The Penguin” focused on the notorious villain. Colin Farrell will reprise his role as the Penguin and it will be produced by “The Batman” director Matt Reeves, along with Farrell, Dylan Clark, and Lauren LeFranc, who will also serve as showrunner.

“Colin exploded off the screen as the Penguin in The Batman, and having the chance to thoroughly explore the inner life of that character on HBO Max is an absolute thrill,” Reeves said in a statement. “Dylan and I are so excited to work with Lauren in continuing Oz’s story as he grabs violently for power in Gotham.”

“The Batman” debuted this month and introduced Robert Pattinson as the latest version of the Dark Knight, alongside Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman. Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions will produce “The Batman” with Dylan Clark Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Rounding it out on the production side of things will be co-executive producer, Rafi Crohn.
