HBO Renews Comedy ‘Insecure’ for a Fifth Season

HBO has greenlit comedy series “Insecure” for a fifth season, with an unconfirmed number of new episodes for 2021. Created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore, “Insecure” focuses on the awkward experiences of a contemporary African-American woman as it continues to follow the characters as they evaluate their relationships, both new and old, in an effort to figure out who and what comes with them in this next phase of their lives.

“Insecure’s” 10-episode fourth season debuted April 12 and stars Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell, Amanda Seales and Alexander Hodge. It is executive produced by Issa Rae, Prentice Penny, Melina Matsoukas, Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky, Jonathan Berry, Amy Aniobi and Jim Kleverweis.
