HBO Renews ‘House of Dragon’ for a Second Season

Ten Episodes Were Produced for Season One

Just one episode after premiering, HBO has greenlit “Game of Thrones” prequel for a second season. Set 200 years before the events of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” series and based on author George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood” book from the “A Song of Ice and Fire” universe, “House of the Dragon” portrays the beginning of the end of House Targaryen and the events leading up to and covering the Targaryen war of succession, known as the “Dance of the Dragons”.

The series stars stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Additional cast includes Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes and Savannah Steyn. Ten episodes of “House of Dragon” was ordered for season one.
