HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Leads the Creative Arts Emmy Awards

And the Winners Were...

The 71st Emmy Awards kicked off with the Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles this past weekend. The biggest winner of the two nights combined was, not surprisingly, HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” which won 10 Creative Arts Emmys. Next was HBO’s “Chernobyl” at seven, followed by six for Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (including Best Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series for Luke Kirby and Jane Lynch).

Bradley Whitford and Cherry Jones took top guest acting honors for Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale.” And Norman Lear, at age 97, became the oldest Emmy winner for ABC’s “Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family” and “The Jeffersons.”
