How to Use the Android Cache Folder in Telegram

Introduction

Is Telegram not working on your Android device? Do you keep getting errors and force closes while using the app? If so then this might be because of the cache folder. The cache folder is created by Telegram(Telegram中文网) to store information about you and your conversations with other users. However, sometimes this can cause issues when it grows too large or becomes corrupted. Therefore if you are having problems using the app, there are a few things that you can try to fix:

Step 1: first use ES file explorer

Step 1: first use ES file explorer

ES File Explorer is a very useful app to manage and view files on your Android device. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, but if you have it already, then you can skip this step and proceed with Step 2.

To find the Android cache folder in telegram, go to “ES File Explorer” -> Menu button (3 dots) -> Settings -> Root Explorer. Now enable root access on your phone so that everything will work fine. When done, go back again in ES File Explorer and tap again on “Settings”, but this time tap on Data directory location (this requires root-access). You should see an entry called “TelegramCache”. Under it are two directories named TelegramData/MediaCache and TelegrafiData/MediaCache respectively; these two directories contain all cached images from the Telegram Messenger app, including those which were deleted by users or accidentally deleted by themselves along with their friends’ conversation threads, etc., hence making them useless for future use unless manually restored into their original place within telegram messenger database files which was previously wiped out due to some unknown reasons such as forced shut down during the operation process, etc.

Step 2: find the Android cache folder in the telegram

To find the Android cache folder in telegram, you’ll need to use a file explorer app like ES File Explorer. Open it and tap on the three dots at the top right of your screen. Select Settings, scroll down, and select Show Hidden Files. Then check all four options marked above (Show System Files, Show Protected Files, Show All Files)

Now that all files are visible in ES File Explorer you can locate the Android cache and copy/paste it into Telegram using any method discussed above!

Step 3: delete the telegram directory

Open the CMD (Command Prompt) on your computer.

Type “cd Desktop/telegram_cache” and hit Enter to navigate to the telegram directory on your computer.

Type “del *.*” and hit Enter to delete all files in this directory, including those that may contain information about you or messages you sent or received using Telegram Messenger (Telegram应用程序).

Step 4: delete the telegram cache directory

Now that you have deleted the Telegram directory, let’s look at why it was necessary to do so.

The reason is that Telegram uses system caches that are stored in a specific location on your Android device. These files are called “system cache” and they can be found in the following path:

/data/data/com.telegram.messenger

When you delete the telegram cache folder

After you have deleted the telegram cache folder, you can re-install the app and log in with your account. Then the messages are downloaded and all stickers are re-downloaded as well. You do not need to worry about this topic anymore because it is easy to understand how to use the Android cache folder in telegram.

The best thing about Telegram is that it allows you to easily transfer files through its secure messenger feature. So if your friend wants something from you and he doesn’t have a storage device or Dropbox account, then send him some files using the telegram messenger app!

Conclusion

now that you have successfully deleted the telegram cache folder and re-installed the app, you will be able to log in with your account.
