Jay Leno to Host ‘You Bet Your Life’ Revival

New Version Will Debut on the Fox Television Stations in Fall 2021

Comedy game show “You Bet Your Life,” which  started on radio in 1947 and initially aired on television from 1950 to 1961 with Groucho Marx, will be revived by the Fox Television Stations in fall 2021 with Jay Leno as host. As in the original format, contestants will have a shot at winning prize money by answering a set of questions from pre-determined categories. Two pairs of contestants will be presented in each episode.

The first 180 episodes will be distributed by Fox First Run.

“I’m thrilled to be hosting the latest version of ‘You Bet Your Life.’ One of my favorite things to do is talk to regular people and draw humor out of them,” said Leno, 70, in a statement obtained by Fox News. “This is a comedy show wrapped in a game show that allows me to do just that.”

Two additional short-lived revivals of “You Bet Your Life” were produced. The first was with host Buddy Hackett in the 1980-81 season, and the second with Bill Cosby from 1992-93. Both failed to attract much of an audience.
