‘Kate & Allie’ Reboot in the Works at NBC

The News Comes on the Same Day ABC Announced a Pilot Order for a Potential New Version of 'The Wonder Years'

Sitcom “Kate & Allie”, which aired on CBS from 1984 to 1989 and starred Susan St. James and Jane Curtin, could be rebooted at NBC. The Peacock net has made a put pilot commitment to this potential new version, which will again focus on two best friends raising their kids in one household. According to the logline: ” They’re “like sister wives, only they don’t have to pretend to love the same man with bad hair. Through their unconventional arrangement, the two prove romance isn’t necessary to be a successful woman and mother.”

Erica Oyama (“Fresh Off the Boat) wrote the pilot script and will serve as an executive producer alongside Nahnatchka Khan, Ben Silverman, Rodney Ferrell, Jen Carreras, Peter Principato, Brian Dobbins, Howard T. Owens and Gregory Lipstone. No casting has been announced.
