Leslie Knope and April Ludgate from ‘Parks and Recreation’ Visit ‘SNL’ Weekend Update

During the “Weekend Update” portion of the January 21, 2023 edition of NBC’s “SNL” (“Saturday Night Live“), anchor Colin Jost introduced two guests to discuss what it is like working for a local government: the still-cynical April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza) and her cheery, optimistic boss from Pawnee, Leslie Knope (“SNL” alum Amy Poehler) — of course, both characters hail from the 2009-15 NBC comedy “Parks and Recreation”.

Knope “admitted” she used to watch “Weekend Update” when Seth Meyers had anchored it “by himself and no one else” (Poehler co-anchored “Weekend Update” with Meyers from 2006-08). She asked Jost if she could tell a joke on the newscast, and he granted her “request.”
