Logo Renews ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race;’ Orders Docuseries ‘Fire Island’

'RuPaul's Drag Race' Heads Into Season 9

Logo has greenlit Emmy nominated “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” hosted by RuPaul Charles, for a ninth season. Debuting on Feb. 2, 2009, the show documents RuPaul in his search for America’s next drag superstar. The most recent season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” concluded in May, while season two of spin-off “RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race” opens on August 25.

The series is produced by World of Wonder Productions with Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Steven Corfe, Mandy Salangsang and RuPaul Charles as executive producers. McCarthy, Post and Palazzola executive produce for Logo.

Logo has also ordered a docuseries from Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ Milogo Productions called “Fire Island,” which will follow a group of young New York City professionals who leave behind the stress of their big-city lives and escape to Fire Island. Milojo Productions produces with Albert Bianchini and Lenid Rolov. For Logo, Pamela Post and Tim Palazzola are executive producers and Jen Passovoy is producer.
