‘Mad About You’ Reboot in the Potential Works

The Potential New Version May Not Air on NBC, However

Following the success of the return of “Will & Grace” and a talk of a reboot of “The Office” comes words of a potential revival of NBC’s “Mad About You.” Sony Pictures Television Studios is working on a revival of “Mad About You” with Paul Reiser and multi-Emmy Award winner Helen Hunt to reprise their roles as married New York couple Paul and Jamie Buchman. The sitcom aired from 1992 to 1999 and the potential new version, which is not a lock on NBC, would likely revolve around Paul and Jamie dealing with empty-nest syndrome in the wake of now-17-year-old daughter Mabel’s admission to college.

The potential return of “Mad About You” continues the trend of revivals of popular shows from the 1980s and 1990s such as aforementioned “Will and Grace,” “Fuller House” on Netflix, which is now in season three, and ABC’s upcoming “Roseanne” reboot, which opens on March 27.

  1. I’m late on this but saw it in a poll earlier this week and was stunned I think this is a great idea for NBC. I was hammering home that NBC needs to reboot one of its multi-cams from the 80s or 90s so that Will & Grace can have some much needed support in that comedy block. I hated The Office reboot idea I’m holding onto hope that it doesn’t happen as it’s too soon for it and Steve Carrell is not going to be apart of it anyways.

Mad About You in my opinion will work in my opinion as it can anchor the other hour in the block.
