Melissa McCarthy Signs Up for Revival of ‘Gilmore Girls’ on Netflix

Netflix to Reprise Classic Series in Four Two-Hour Installments

Melissa McCarthy will reprise her role as Sookie St. James in the upcoming revival of “Gilmore Girls” on Netflix. The streamer will air four two-hour original installments of the 2000-07 dramedy, which began on The WB and concluded on The CW. And McCarthy, who is expected to make a cameo appearance (or two), will join returning cast members Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Rose Abdoo, Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, Sally Struthers, David Sutcliffe, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale, Danny Strong and Vanessa Marano.

Netflix has not announced a release date yet of this new “Gilmore News.”
