MGM to Revive ‘Stargate’ Franchise with Digital Series ‘Stargate Origins’

Ten Episodes of the Digital Series Ordered

MGM has ordered 10 episodes of a new digital series called “Stargate Origins” following the character of Catherine Langford from the sci-fi “Stargate” franchise, the scientist whose lifelong obsession led to the events that begin the 1994 film “Stargate.” Langford then recurred as a character throughout “Stargate SG-1.”

The digital platform will be Stargate Command, which is subscription based. The announcement was made during MGM’s Comic-Con panel in San Diego this weekand timed with the 20th anniversary of the “Stargate-SG-1” TV series.
