The winter premiere of the hit singing competition “The Voice” boosted NBC to a solid Monday victory among total viewers (11.17 million), adults 18-49 (2.9 rating/9 share) and adults 25-54 (3.9/11). As for how strong the return of “The Voice” was, only two episodes of the show from the fall 2015 season drew more viewers: Dec. 14 and Sep. 29.
ABC managed an adults 18-34 win (1.9/8) due to “The Bachelor”.
Also returning from hiatus on the night was Fox’s “Gotham” which was on-par in adults 18-49 (1.5 rating) but a bit below its season average in total viewers (4.31 million) to-date. It was the first week “Lucifer” did not have the benefit of an “X-Files” lead-in. Compared to the prior week (Feb. 22, 2016), the freshman drama dropped 20 percent in total viewers and 13 percent in adults 18-49, but still maintains a healthy lead over Fox’s previous time slot occupant this season, “Minority Report”.
