Monday Overnights: ‘9-1-1’ Remains a Success for Fox

Ratings Breakdown:
NBC won this fourth Monday in April thanks to “The Voice,” which topped the evening at a 5.1 rating/9 share in households from 8-10 p.m. Competing “American Idol” on ABC (3.8/ 6) was a clips edition. But the real success story was sophomore drama “9-1-1” on Fox (#2: 4.4/ 7 from 9-10 p.m.), which increased from lead-in “The Resident” (#4: 3.8/ 6 at 8 p.m.) by 16 percent and was 52 percent above year-ago time period occupant “The Resident” (which, at the time, occupied the Monday 9 p.m. hour).

In season finale news was CBS sitcom “The Neighborhood,” which earned its renewal at a second-place 4.4/ 8 in the household overnights in the 8 p.m. half-hour. On-the-fence lead-out “Man With a Plan” slipped to a fourth-place 3.4/ 6 at 8:30 p.m., which recent Monday 9 p.m. drama entry “The Code” disappointed at a fourth-place 3.2/ 5 in the 9 p.m. hour.

Despite airing a repeat, CBS drama “Bull” (3.5/ 7) won the Monday 10 p.m. hour, besting competing “The Enemy Within” on NBC (#2: 2.8/ 5) and “The Fix” on ABC (#3: 2.4/ 4) by 25 percent and 46 percent, respectively.
