ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” topped this final Monday in August, with a 3.5 rating/6 share in households from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, that was slightly above the 3.2/ 6 for competing “American Ninja Warrior” on NBC. The moral of this story: both summer shows have years of life ahead.

Elsewhere, there was nothing new to report. A two-hour edition of Fox’s tired “So You Think You Can Dance” could not compete at a 1.7/ 3 in households from 8-10 p.m. Maybe it is time to give the dance competition a rest.
