Monday Overnights: ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Leads ABC to Holiday Victory

ABC led this holiday Monday thanks to an expanded (8-11 p.m. ET) edition of “Bachelor in Paradise,” which topped the night at a 3.2 rating/6 share in the household overnights. Comparably, competing “American Ninja Warrior” on NBC scored a 3.0/ 5 from 8-10 p.m., which was 14 percent below the 3.4/ 6 on the year-ago evening.

On Fox, veteran “So You Think You Can Dance” scored a 2.0/ 3 in households from 8-10 p.m., which was actually a slight improvement from the 1.9/ 3 on the year-ago evening.

Also original last night was CBS detective drama “Elementary” (#2: 2.4/ 5 at 10 p.m.), which increased from likely-to-be canceled lead-in “Salvation” (#4: 1.7/ 3 at 9 p.m.) by 41 percent. And “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” on The CW (#5: 1.0/ 2 from 8-9 p.m.) led into a typically modest 0.6/ 1 (#1) for “Whose Line is it Anyway?” in the 9 p.m. half-hour. Don’t worry folks…the official start of the 2018-19 TV season is now only 20 days away.
