Monday Overnights: CBS Has Sprung a Summer Leak with Sophomore ‘Salvation’

ABC opened the week on a typical winning overnight household note thanks to “The Bachelorette” (#1: 4.4 rating/8 share), which bested competing “American Ninja Warrior” on NBC (3.3/ 6) by 33 percent (in rating). But recently introduced lead-out “The Proposal” dipped to third in the 10 p.m. hour, with a 2.1/ 4. Comparably, that trailed “Dateline” on NBC (#1: 3.1/ 6) and “Elementary” on CBS (#2: 2.7/ 5) by 32 percent and 22 percent, respectively.

CBS, meanwhile, has sprung a leak in the Monday 9 p.m. hour this summer, with sophomore drama “Salvation” at a modest 1.9/ 3.

Also original last night was “So You Think You Can Dance” on Fox (#4: 2.2/ 4) and “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” on The CW (#5: 1.1/ 2) in the 8 p.m. hour, and the 9 p.m. half-hour installment of “Whose Line is it Anyway?” on The CW (#5: 0.7/ 1).
