Ratings Breakdown:
Minus the anchor support of “The Big Bang Theory” (which moves back to Thursday into “Young Sheldon,” “Mom,” “Life in Pieces” and the debut of “S.W.A.T.” this week), CBS dipped by 28 percent in the household overnights from last week. Sophomore “Kevin Can Wait,” now at 8 p.m., scored a respectable 4.2 rating/7 share (#3) in households, but recently introduced “9JKL” slipped to a series-low 3.3/ 5 (#3) at 8:30 p.m. “Comparably, “9JKL” was 30 percent below the 4.7/ 7 one week earlier and 13 below “Man With a Plan” on the year-ago evening (3.8/ 6 on 10/31/16). My crystal ball tells me “Man With a Plan,” starring Matt LeBlanc, will be back sooner that the network had hoped.

CBS sitcom “Superior Donuts” opened its second season with a modest 3.2/ 5 (#3) in the 9 p.m. half-hour, which was 18 percent below “Kevin Can Wait” one week earlier (3.9/ 6 on Oct. 23) and only on par with deteriorating year-ago time period occupant “2 Broke Girls.”

With weaker lead-in support, the Eye net’s freshman “Me, Myself & I” dropped to a series low 2.5/ 4 (#4) at 9:30 p.m. Tick, tock…the cancellation clock could be ticking. And that led into drama “Scorpion,” which perked up to a second-place 3.4/ 6 at 10 p.m. but still paled in comparison to ABC’s competing “The Good Doctor” (#1: 6.9/12). Combined, “Scorpion” and NBC’s recently introduced “The Brave” (#3: 2.9/ 5) trailed “The Good Doctor” by nine percent.

In the battle of the 8-10 p.m. reality competitions, “Dancing With the Stars” on ABC (#1: 7.1/11) beat NBC’s “The Voice” (#2: 6.2/10) by 15 percent. But “The Voice” owns the block in adults 18-49 (and all the key demos). Ignited by “The Good Doctor,” meanwhile, ABC year-to-year is exhibiting noticable overall household rating growth.

Elsewhere, Fox’s combination of dramas “Lucifer” and “The Gifted” remain perfectly compatible, each with a 2.6/ 4 in the household overnights. Chances of a full season episode order for “The Gifted” is inevitable. And recently introduced CW military drama “Valor” remains a bust at a 0.6/ 1 at 9 p.m. (#5) out of a 1.3/ 2 for “Supergirl” (#5: 1.3/ 2 at 8 p.m.). Year-to-year, “Supergirl” slipped by 24 percent.
