-Ratings Breakdown:
Perennial summer favorite “The Bachelorette” led ABC to Monday overnight victory, as usual. It scored a 4.4 rating/8 share in households from 8-10 p.m. But recent alphabet net reality entry “The Proposal” dropped the ball at 10 p.m., with a third-place 2.3/ 4 at 10 p.m. Comparably, that was 48 percent below “The Bachelorette” and it trailed competing “Dateline” on NBC (#1: 3.3/ 7) and “Elementary” on CBS (#2: 2.5/ 5) by 30 percent and 8 percent, respectively.

On NBC, Emmy nominated “American Ninja Warrior” got a boost by moving back into the 8-10 p.m. block, with a 3.1/ 5 in households.

Elsewhere, sophomore drama “Salvation” on CBS could not compete, with a distant third-place 1.8/ 3 at 9 p.m. “So You Think You Can Dance” on Fox remained diluted with a 2.2/ 3 in the 8 p.m. hour (opposite a 1.0/ 2 for “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” on The CW). And The CW led out of “Penn & Teller” with a modest 0.8/ 1 for “Whose Line is it Anyway?” in the 9 p.m. half-hour. The rest of the evening was all repeats.
