Total Viewers:
CBS: 6.14 million, NBC: 5.33, ABC: 4.97, Fox: 3.30, CW: 413,000

Adults 18-49:
ABC and NBC: 0.7 rating/5 share each, CBS: 0.6/ 4, Fox: 0.5/ 3, CW: 0.1/ 1

Led by “NCIS”, now a Monday 9 p.m. ET time period occupant, CBS is now the network to beat on this first evening of the week. The veteran military crime solver scored a dominant 7.78 million viewers, with a third place 0.7 rating/4 share in adults 18-49. And that led into episode two of new spin-off “NCIS: Hawai’i” at 5.39 million viewers (#1) and a 0.5/ 3 in the demo (#2) in the 10 p.m. hour. As always, the strength of CBS falls within total viewers (fueled by the 50+ demo group).

Earlier in the evening on the Eye net were compatible 8-9 p.m. sitcoms “The Neighborhood” (Viewers: #4, 5.19 million; A18-49: #4, 0.6/ 4) and “Bob Hearts Abishola” (Viewers: #2, 5.29 million; A18-49: #4, 0.6/ 4).

Also in week two news was NBC drama “Ordinary Joe” at a third-place 2.66 million viewers and a 0.4/ 3 in adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. In addition to aforementioned “NCIS: Hawai’i”, it also faced the season premiere of ABC medical drama “The Good Doctor” (Viewers: #2, 4.58 million; A18-49: #1, 0.6/ 4). Comparably, “Ordinary Joe” suffered significant slippage from lead-in “The Voice” (Viewers: #1, 6.64 million; A18-49: #1, 0.9/ 5), which is benefitting by the arrival of Ariana Grande. Pretty ordinary, I think.

Week two of Fox drama “The Big Leap”, meanwhile, is the big flop in this early new season with a mere 1.48 million viewers (#4) and a 0.2/ 2 in the demo (#4) at 9 p.m. Lead-in “9-1-1” was considerably stronger at 5.11 million viewers (#4) and a 0.8/ 5 in adults 18-49 (#2t) at 8 p.m.

Elsewhere, ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” scored 5.75 million viewers (#3) and a 0.8/ 4 in the demo (#2) from 8-10 p.m. That trailed NBC’s aforementioned “The Voice.” And The CW featured drama “Roswell, New Mexico” (Viewers: #5, 489,000; A18-49: #5, 0.1/ 1 at 8 p.m.) and an encore telecast of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us”, which opens its new season in the Friday 8 p.m. hour this week.
