MTV Renews ‘Scream’ for an Abbreviated Third Season

Six New Episodes Ordered for 2017

MTV has greenlit slasher drama “Scream” for a third season, but the order is only for six episodes. The renewal comes ahead of the MTV’s two-hour “Scream” Halloween special tomorrow night, which sets the stage for the new season. It picks up eight months after Kieran’s (Amadeus Serafini) arrest (Kieran was revealed to be the killer at the end of season two).

Debuting on June 30, 2015, “Scream,” adapted from the horror anthology theatrical series of the same name, is set in the fictional town of Lakewood where a string of murders take place.
