NBC Orders ‘Maya and Marty in Manhattan’

Summer Variety Series Will Air out of 'America's Got Talent' on Tuesday

NBC, which is intent on reviving the variety format in primetime, has confirmed upcoming “Maya and Marty in Manhattan,” hosted by former “SNL” players Maya Rudolph and Martin Short and produced by Lorne Michaels. Also featured will be “SNL’s” Kenan Thompson.

The series, which will telecast live from 30 Rockefeller Center and will feature sketches that spoof current events and celebrities and musical performances, will launch Tuesday, May 31 at 10 p.m., after the season-premiere of “America’s Got Talent.”

Last fall, NBC aired “Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris,” which lasted on eight episodes.
