This summer’s most-watched new series, competition “World of Dance,” has been greenlit by NBC for a second season. Debuting on May 30th out of “America’s Got Talent,” the series gives dancers the platform to showcase their talents and compete for a $1 million grand prize. It features a judging team composed of Jennifer Lopez, who also serves as an executive producer, Derek Hough, NE-YO and host Jenna Dewan Tatum.
“I am so proud to not only star, but produce a show that is so close to my heart,” said Jennifer Lopez in a statement. “I am so happy that ‘World of Dance’ has resonated with audiences and we are able to put dancers on the pedestal they deserve. I cannot wait to continue this journey and my partnership with NBC.”
Based on the most recent Live + Same Day data from Nielsen, “World of Dance” won the Tuesday 10 p.m. hour this week with 7.51 million viewers and a 1.8 rating/8 share in adults 18-49. Lead-in “America’s Got Talent” averaged 12.36 million viewers and a 2.5/11 in the demo.
