NBCUniversal has opted against a third season of daytime talker “The Meredith Vieira Show.” Despite making the show live and adding a variety of regular panelists (including Lance Bass), “Meredith Vieira” in season two ranks 13th out of 14 daily hours in the category with a 0.9 rating. Year-to-year, that is down by 25 percent.
“I am so sorry to see our show come to an end after this season, but I am also incredibly proud of the work our staff has done and forever grateful to our supportive viewers,” Vieira said in a statement. “We promise to spend our final weeks producing the best broadcast we know how. And have a blast doing so!”
After the show wraps, Vieira will head to Rio to help cover the Summer Olympics for NBC.
