Netflix Cancels Drama ‘Firefly Lane’

The First 9 Episodes of the Now Final Second Season Drop on Friday, December 2

Netflix has opted against a third season of female buddy drama “Firefly Lane,” which will open the second season of its now final episode of Friday, December 2. Sixteen episodes have been produced, with the first batch of nine dropping on that day.

Debuting in February, 2021 and based on the novel by Kristin Hannah, “Firefly Lan”  follows the lives of childhood best friends Tully Hart (Katherine Heigl) and Kate Mularkey (Sarah Chalke). The logline: Together they experience 30 years of ups and downs, triumphs and disappointments, heartbreak and joy and a love triangle that strains their friendship. One goes on to fabulous wealth and fame, the other chooses marriage and motherhood, but through the decades, their bond remains — until it faces the ultimate test.

The second season of “Firefly Lane” will feature new cast members including India de Beaufort, Greg Germann, Jolene Purdy and Ignacio Serricchio. They join Ben Lawson, Beau Garrett, Ali Skovbye, Roan Curtis and Yael Yurman.
