Netflix Orders Animated ‘Tuca & Bertie’

10 Initial Episodes Ordered

Netflix has placed an order for an animated series from the team behind “Bojack Horseman” called “Tuca & Bertie.” The upcoming half-hour is described is a comedy about the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building: Tuca, a cocky, care-free toucan, and Bertie, an anxious, daydreaming songbird. Produced by Michael Eisner’s The Tornante Company, Tiffany Haddish will voice the lead character of Tuca.

Lisa Hanawalt (“BoJack Horseman”) created the series, which consists of 10-episodes for its first season. Hanawalt is an executive producer alongside Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright and, Steven A. Cohen.
