Netflix Orders Workplace Comedy ‘Blockbuster’

Netflix has placed a 10 episode order for a single-camera workplace comedy from Universal called “Blockbuster”, which stars Randall Park (“Fresh Off the Boat”) and is set in the last remaining Blockbuster video store. “Blockbuster” will provide an authentic experience in its trip down memory lane as the producers have acquired the Blockbuster rights and will use the store’s logo and uniforms.

Vanessa Ramos (“Superstore”, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) created the series and will write the episodes alongside David Caspe (“Happy Endings”) and Jackie Clarke (“Happy Endings”, “Superstore”). All three will executive produce alongside Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox.
