Netflix Picks Up ‘Warrior Nun’ for Season 2

10 Episodes of the Action Drama Were Produced in Season 1

Netflix has greenlit action drama “Warrior Nun” for a second season, with an unconfirmed number of new episodes. Inspired by Ben Dunn’s “Warrior Nun Areala” Manga series, “Warrior Nun” revolves around a 19 year-old woman named Ava (Baptista) who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her back. She discovers she is now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth, and powerful forces representing both heaven and hell want to find and control her. After  Ava accepts sisters in arms (and vice-versa), an evil angel-like figure named Adriel (William Miller) returns to wreak havoc.

Simon Barry (“Ghost Wars”) executive produces with Stephen Hegyes (“White Noise”) and David Hayter in season 2. Amy Berg (“Counterpart”) is consulting producer. Terri Hughes Burton (“The 100,” “Eureka”) is co-executive producer.
