Netflix Renews ‘Marvel’s The Punisher’ for Season Two

Series is Spun-off From 'Marvel's Daredevil'

Netflix announced on Facebook that “Marvel’s The Punisher” has been greenlit for a second season, with an unconfirmed number of new episodes for 2018. Debuting on Nov. 17 and spun-off from “Marvel’s Daredevil,” the series revolves around Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), who uses lethal methods to fight crime as the vigilante “the Punisher.” After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

Season one of “Marvel’s The Punisher” was executive produced by showrunner Steve Lightfoot (“Hannibal”), Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb (both “Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” and “Marvel’s Luke Cage”) who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television. “Marvel’s The Punisher” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
