Netflix Renews Teen Drama ‘Elite’ for Season Five

Pick-Up Comes Prior to the Fourth Season Launch

Netflix has announced a fifth season for Spanish-language teen drama “Elite” prior to its season four debut. Debuting in 2018, “Elite” is set in Las Encinas, a fictional elite secondary school and revolves around the relationships between three working-class teenage students enrolled at the school through a scholarship and their wealthy classmates. The series features an ensemble cast including Maria Pedraza, Itzan Escamilla, Miguel Bernardeau, Miguel Herran, Jaime Lorente, Alvaro Rico, Mina El Hammani, Ester Exposito, Omar Avuso and Jorge Lopez. Claudia Salas, Georgina Amoros, Sergio Momo, Leïti Sène, Carla Díaz, Manu Ríos, Martina Cariddi, and Pol Granch joined the cast in later seasons.

Netflix previously announced that season four of the soapy drama will drop later this year and welcome new castmembers Andrés Velencoso, Manu Rios, Carla Díaz, Martina Cariddi, Pol Granch and Diego Martín.

The streamer has said the first season of “Elite” was viewed by more than 20 million member accounts worldwide.
