Paramount Network Renews ‘Lip Sync Battle’

Twelve New Half-Hour Episodes Ordered

Paramount Network has greenlit competition series “Lip Sync Battle,” hosted by LL Cool J, for a fifth edition, with an order for 12 new half-hour episodes in 2019. Debuting on April 2, 2015 on the former Spike TV network, the show is based on an idea by John Krasinski and Stephen Merchant, in which celebrities battle each other with lip sync performances. The idea was first realized as a recurring segment on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on NBC before being developed into a separate show.

The announcement comes on the heels of “Lip Sync Battle’s” third consecutive Emmy nomination for Outstanding Structured Reality Program.
