General Polish, Business Polish, Polish for Lawyers, Polish for Ski Instructors |
GLOSSA is one of the language schools that offers the largest number of course options. It organizes courses for three different age groups: junior, teenager and adult. It also allows you to learn both general and professional Polish. The company has nearly 20 years of history, and it is possible to attend its courses online. One of the most interesting features of GLOSSA is that it organizes “Polish for companies” courses. Company employees can learn Polish for their industry – many foreign companies in the country require their employees to speak Polish, and GLOSSA is one of the few companies that offers language courses for this purpose alone.
Course prices start from 320 EUR for general Polish and a minimum of two weeks courses are available. However, the amount you have to pay, depending on the duration of the training and the type of course, can go up to 5,800 EUR. For example, if you want to take one-to-one private lessons for business Polish, you have to take 30 lessons per week and pay 1,849 EUR. GLOSSA stands out for the variety of course types it offers and is considered one of the largest language schools in Poland.
PROLOG School of Polish
PROLOG is one of the oldest language schools in Poland. It was founded in 1994, and its headquarters are in Krakow. PROLOG has won the LanguageCourse.Net’s “best customer service award” and has MSUES certification (you can think of it as a kind of ISO certification).
PROLOG offers two types of general Polish courses, standard and intensive. The prices of standard courses start from 245 EUR and are given for at least 1 week. It is possible to take both courses for a maximum of four weeks, but if you want, you can purchase additional weeks by paying extra. Prices of intensive courses start from 325 EUR and can go up to 1,500 EUR, depending on the course content. Finally, you can also take individual private lessons. In this case, you can purchase 10, 20 or 30 lessons per week, and the cost varies between 195 EUR and 550 EUR. The difference between PROLOG and other courses is that it also offers transfer and accommodation services if you want. For example, if you want to stay in an apartment during your course, you can do this by paying 210 EUR per week.
Study & Live in your Teacher’s Home
This course is quite different from what you are used to: it does not have an address because it is taught at teachers’ homes. In other words, the address of the course and the teacher’s home address are the same. Home Language International (HLI) is a London-based company that has been operating since 1979. It has host families all over Europe, and any student from any country can choose one of these families and live with them. The student lives with the family while learning Polish: HLI calls this program “immersion education.”
While living with the family, you are learning Polish and continuing to speak Polish in your daily life. In other words, your relationship with Polish lasts around the clock. HLI host families are currently only available in Warsaw, and the price you have to pay depends on the hours of the lessons. For example, you have the option of accommodation for 1 week and 10 hours of Polish lessons, and this option costs 1,040 EUR. If you want to take a 30-hour course, the fee goes up to 1,740 EUR. If you want, you can stay longer, include social activities and take additional lessons: the fee you have to pay varies accordingly. In any case, HLI programs represent perhaps the most “natural” way to learn Polish. If living with other people is not a problem for you, these courses may be your best option.
