Ratings Breakdown:
There were three season-finales last night: CBS sitcom “Man with a Plan,” and dramas “Scorpion” on CBS and “Quantico” on ABC. “Quantico,” which managed to snag a 13-episode third season renewal despite this anemic-rated sophomore season, concluded with a mere 2.1 rating/4 share in the household overnights at 10 p.m. First in the 10 p.m. hour was the “Scorpion” season-ender with a 5.2/ 9, which built from a 9:30 p.m. encore telecast of “Kevin Can Wait” (#3: 3.0/ 5) by 73 percent. Competing NBC game show “The Wall” scored a second-place 3.2/ 5.

“Man with a Plan,” meanwhile, finished season one with a third-place 3.8/ 6 in the household overnights at 8:30 p.m., which was on par with an encore telecast of “The Big Bang Theory” at 8 p.m. (#3: 3.9/ 7). A second telecast of “The Big Bang Theory” averaged a 3.6/ 6 in the 9 p.m. half-hour.

In the battle of the reality/competitions, “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC (#1: 7.1/12) bested competing “The Voice” on NBC (#2: 5.9/10) by 20 percent in households. As we all know, however, “The Voice” will hold a sizable advantage in adults 18-49 and all the key young adult demographics.

Elsewhere, “Gotham” on Fox (#4: 2.2/ 3), which moves into the Thursday 8 p.m. hour next fall (into new dramedy “The Orville”), led into a comparable 2.3/ 4 for “Lucifer” at 9 p.m. Next fall, “Lucifer” moves up one hour on Monday into new Marvel drama “The Gifted.” For more on Fox’s fall 2017 line-up, click here

The CW capped off the evening with the combination of “Supergirl” (#5: 1.5/ 3), which was a successful addition to the network this season, and “Jane the Virgin” (#5: 0.6/ 1), which survives via the ongoing critical acclaim.
