‘Press Your Luck’ Game Show Reportedly Revived at ABC

The website Buzzerblog first reported last Thursday that the ABC network is bringing back the classic 80’s game show “Press Your Luck“.

The new version is currently looking for contestants via PressYourLuckCasting.com. The show, produced by Fremantle with John Quinn (“Celebrity Name Game”, “Match Game”, “25 Words or Less”) as showrunner, will film in Southern California.

“Press Your Luck”, the game show that famously had contestants yelling “Big Bucks!” and “No Whammies” as they try to win cash and prizes on a flashing big board, was originally known as the 1977 ABC daytime game “Second Chance.” Its most known version had run on CBS daytime from 1983 thru 1986; reruns of this edition were a staple of USA Network’s weekday afternoon game show block from 1987 thru 1995. The show had a brief revival as “Whammy!” on Game Show Network in 2002 and had a one-off return on CBS in the summer 2006 during its Gameshow Marathon specials.
