Saturday Final Nationals: Univision Networks Tops Key Demos with Colombia-USA Copa America Centenario Third-Place Match

It was yet another low-rated Saturday night of television. Despite sports programming on the competing major broadcast networks, ABC (which televised no sports on the evening) managed to earn victory among total viewers (3.16 million).

But it was Univision (in conjunction with sports cable partner Univision Deportes) that led the night’s entire television landscape in all key demos, thanks to Colombia’s 1-0 win over the USA in the third-place match of the 2016 Copa América Centenario — the most-watched Copa America third-place match to-date.

The USA vs. Colombia Copa America Centenario 3rd place match made Univision the No. 1 broadcast station during the time period (8:00 pm-10:00 pm ET, live across time zones) among:
·         Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles, Miami and Phoenix
·         Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco and Phoenix
·         Young Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, San Francisco and Phoenix
 
In fact, the USA vs. Colombia match was the No. 1 program of the day among:
·         Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles and Miami
·         Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston and Phoenix
·         Young Adults 18-34 in Miami, Houston and Phoenix
 
The USA vs. Colombia match on Univision had higher viewership than the ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX stations combined in the time period (8:00 pm-10:00 pm ET, live across time zones) among:
·         Total Viewers 2+ in Miami
·         Adults 18-49 and young Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, Miami and Phoenix
