Even though Houston Astros at Boston Red Sox ALCS Game 1 (5.82 million viewers) were down a mere 5 percent from last year’s ALCS Game 1 (Yankees-Astros FS1 10/13/17 — 6.16 million) and down just 8 percent from last year’s NLCS Game 1 (Cubs-Dodgers TBS 10/13/17 — 6.33 million), TBS was Saturday prime time’s top cable network among total viewers and all key adult and male demos.

Game 1 peaked with an average of 6.9 million viewers from 11-11:15 PM ET.

Houston led all metered markets for ALCS Game 1 with a 20.0 local rating, the highest-rated telecast ever for any program on TBS in the market. Boston posted a 19.8 household rating, the best MLB Postseason telecast on TBS in the market in five years (since their World Series title run of 2013).
