RATINGS RESULTS FOR THE OCT. 19 REBROADCAST OF “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE”

AN “SNL” ENCORE RANKS #2 FOR THE NIGHT IN METERED-MARKET HOUSEHOLDS

“SNL’S” SEPT. 28 SEASON PREMIERE HAS GENERATED THE SHOW’S 2ND BIGGEST PERCENTAGE LIFT EVER IN L+7 NIELSENS, GROWING BY +74% FROM L+SD

An Oct. 19 encore edition of “Saturday Night Live,” hosted by Woody Harrelson and featuring musical guest Billie Eilish, has averaged a 2.4 rating in “live plus same day” household results from 44 local markets metered by Nielsen Media Research and a 0.8 rating in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Note that current metered-market results are not compatible with data issued before Oct. 5 due to changes in Nielsen methodology.

Versus primetime programming on the Big 4 networks Saturday night, the “SNL” rebroadcast is the #2 show of the night in metered-market households and in 18-49 in the local people meters, behind only ABC’s Michigan-Penn State college football.

Note that “SNL” adds significant viewership via time-shifting, with last season’s originals growing by +58% in 18-49 and +2.548 million persons or +40% in total viewers nationally going from “live plus same day” Nielsens to “live plus seven day” figures. In L+SD, “SNL” last season averaged a 1.46 rating in 18-49 nationally and 6.331 million viewers overall, and in L+7, “SNL” grows to a 2.31 in 18-49 and 8.879 million viewers.

The show’s Sept. 28 season-premiere telecast has generated “SNL’s” second biggest percentage lift ever in L+7 Nielsens, growing by +74% going from “live plus same day” to L+7 results (from a 1.33 rating in 18-49 nationally to a 2.32). The only higher-percentage L+7 lift was the +75% of the Feb. 4, 2017 telecast with host Kristen Stewart and musical guest Alessia Cara. In total viewers, the Sept. 28 season premiere increased by +3.215 million persons (from 6.107 million to 9.322 million).

After 35 days of digital and linear time-shifting, “Saturday Night Live’s” 18-49 rating last season grew by +142%, all the way to a 3.54 (vs. a 1.46 in “live plus same day”).

    Saturday Primetime Ratings:

The NBC Movie of the Week, the 2015 feature film “Jurassic World” (0.4 in 18-49, 1.9 million viewers overall from 8-11 p.m. ET):

Equals NBC’s top-rated Saturday in 18-49, excluding sports, since March 16 (0.5 with “Dateline Mystery” and “SNL Vintage”).

Ties for #1 in primetime, excluding sports, among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

NOTE: All ratings are “live plus same day” from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.
