Showtime Announces 8th — and Final — Season of ‘Homeland’

12 Final Episodes to Begin Airing in June 2019

Showtime has announced tat the upcoming eight season of critically acclaimed drama “Homeland” will be its last. The now final 12 episodes will begin in June 2019.

“’Homeland’ has been a game-changing series for Showtime, as provocative about the world we live in as it is prescient,” said David Nevins President and CEO of Showtime Networks Inc. “This project, arriving right at the beginning of my Showtime tenure thanks to Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, and brought to life by a remarkable cast led by Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin, is a richly written character study that is now ready for its natural conclusion. Viewers will be rewarded by the way Alex brings ‘Homeland’ home.”

Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios for Showtime, ‘Homeland’ was developed for American television by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, and is based on the original Israeli series ‘Prisoners of War’ by Gideon Raff. Along with Gansa and Gordon, the list of executive producers for season eight will include Chip Johannessen, Deb Cahn, Lesli Linka Glatter, Patrick Harbinson, Claire Danes, Michael Klick, Gideon Raff, Avi Nir and Ran Telem.
