‘SNL’: An Oompa Loompa Gets Flustered by His Introduction on ‘Weekend Update’

During “Weekend Update” on the October 16, 2021 edition of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” a report on social media’s reaction to a teaser photo of Timothee Chalamet from the set of “Wonka“, the prequel to “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, which labeled the actor as a “twink Willy Wonka” led anchor Colin Jost to bring on a guest most familiar with the situation: Proud Gay Oompa Loompa (Bowen Yang).

Throughout the spot, the Oompa Loompa continued to be bothered that Jost “outed” him on national television in his intro. He stated that Loompaland is not as progressive, since they “just got ‘Will & Grace’”
