‘SNL’: Crazy Performers in Karaoke All-Star Showcase

In a skit on the November 20, 2021 edition of NBC’s “SNL” (“Saturday Night Live“), a local cable access station from Wilmington, North Carolina featured the show “Karaoke Recap“. Its hosts were Misty Barefoot (Chloe Fineman) and bar & grill owner Bixby (Kenan Thompson).

Some of the oddball karaoke all-stars included:

  • drunk lady (Ego Nwodm) performs Sade’s “Smooth Operator”
  • presumed rapper (Chris Redd) who actually sang Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone”
  • desperate office worker (host Simu Liu) performs Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way”
  • awkward father-daughter duo (Alex Moffat and Heidi Gardner) for Ginuwine’s “Pony”
  • and, finally, a “shocked” lady (Cecily Strong) who goes all-out for Whitney Houston’s version of “I Will Always Love You.”
