Although Golden State’s blowout win over Cleveland resulted in declines of 9 percent (in total viewers; 17.489 million vs. 19.168 million) and 12 percent (in adults 18-49; 8.28 million vs. 9.432 million) for “NBA Finals Game 2” from its year-ago Finals Game 2 (on 6/07/15), ABC still won Sunday night, by far, in all measures.
Univision was the No. 2 network in all of television among the adults 18-34 and adults 18-49 demographics, due to the “Copa América Centenario” match between México and Uruguay (simulcast on UDN) which delivered 4.7 million total viewers, 2.6 million adults 18-49 and 1.2 million young adults 18-34. The match was the most-watched soccer telecast on any network, regardless of language, since the Gold Cup Final on Univision in July 2015. In addition, the ratings performance was the best for any Copa América Group Stage match since México vs. Ecuador on July 1, 2007 on Univision.
