Sunday Final Ratings: ABC Debut of ‘American Idol’ Delivers Network’s Most-Watched Series Audience in the Time Slot in Four Years

ABC generated its most watched Sunday (8.2 million) with series programming in 5-1/2 years – since 9/30/12.

In its 8-10pm debut opposite stiff competition from Fox’s OJ Simpson Interview and AMC’s The Walking Dead, ABC’s American Idol premiered with the Network’s biggest series audience in time period (10.5 million) in 4 years and top Adult 18-49 rating (2.3/9) since November 2014 – since 3/9/14 and 11/16/14, respectively.
