Ratings Breakdown:
The Cincinnati Bengals at the Kansas City Chiefs match-up on “Sunday Night Football” led NBC to victory, of course, with an estimated 11.0 rating/18 share in the household overnights from 8:30-11:30 p.m. ET. The peak half-hour was 9:30 p.m., which scored a 12.6/20.
In week two news, ABC primetime talker “The Alec Baldwin Show,” featuring a conversation with Kim Kardashian, remained a bust at a 1.7/ 3 at 10 p.m. Comparably, that was 41 percent below lead-in “Shark Tank” (#3: 2.9/ 5 at 9 p.m.), and the identical household overnight rating one week earlier translated into just 2.07 million viewers and a 0.3 rating/1 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live+Same Day data. Tick, tock…the cancellation clock in ticking.
Of note on “Shark Tank” were siblings Kaley, Christian and Keira Young from my town, Wantagh, New York, demonstrating their late firefighter Keith Young’s kitchen cutting board, the Cup Board Pro, and getting a deal with the five sharks.
Also in its second week was the reboot of “Charmed” on The CW, which at a modest 1.0/ 2 in the 9 p.m. hour (#5) was compatible with the 1.1/ 2 for lead-in “Supergirl” (#5: 1.1/ 2 at 8 p.m.). One week earlier, “Charmed” opened with a 1.1/ 2 in the household overnights.
Earlier in the evening on ABC was veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (#5: 3.5/ 6 at 7 p.m.) into recent entry “Dancing With the Stars Juniors” (#3: 3.5/ 5), which has not resonated.
