Sunday Overnights: ABC and CBS Tie Modest Leadership

ABC to Network to Beat in Adults 18-49

Sunday, July 21, 2019

Note: The following overnight results exclude the Detroit market.

Household Ratings/Share
ABC and CBS: 3.1/ 6 each, NBC: 1.9/ 3, Fox: 0.8/ 2, CW: 0.4/ 1

Percent Change from the Year-Ago Evening:
ABC and Fox: no change, CBS: – 6, NBC: -21

Ratings Breakdown:
There was nothing unusual to report on this quiet (and hot) summer Sunday. ABC is the network to beat in adults 18-49 thanks primarily to 8-10 p.m. game shows “Celebrity Family Feud” (#1: 3.8 rating/7 share) and “The $100,000 Pyramid” (3.3/ 6). Comparably, “Celebrity Family Feud” bested “Big Brother” on CBS (#2: 2.9/ 5) by 31 percent.

While “To Tell the Truth” kept ABC in the overnight winner’s circle at 10 p.m., a 2.5/ 5 was 22 percent below the 9:30 p.m. portion of “The $100,000 Pyramid” (3.2/ 6).

As for aforementioned “Big Brother,” that was quite a satisfying episode last night, wasn’t it?

Airing out of “Big Brother” on CBS was the 9-11 p.m. drama pairing of “Instinct” (#2: 2.4/ 4) and CBS All Access’ “The Good Fight” (#2: 2.2/ 5), which will both skew older.

Other than CW legal drama “Burden of Truth” (#5: 0.5/ 1 at 8 p.m.) and “Just What Happened??!! With Fred Savage” on Fox at 9:30 p.m. (#4: 0.6/ 1), the remainder of this third June Sunday are as follows:
