Sunday Overnights: Live Musical ‘Rent’ Does Not Impress on Fox

Ratings Breakdown:
CBS topped this final Sunday in January in the household overnights, besting No. 2 ABC by 56 percent. On Fox, live musical event “Rent” did not make the grade with a modest 2.5 rating/4 share in the household overnights from 8-11 p.m. Its peak half-hour was a 2.9/ 5 at 8 p.m. From the 8 p.m. half-hour to 10:30 p.m. (2.2/ 4), it dropped by 24 percent.

On CBS, “Big Brother: Celebrity Edition” scored a 3.4/ 5 in households at 8 p.m., which was below regularly scheduled time period occupant “God Friended Me” (but will certainly be an improvement in adults 18-49). “Big Brother: Celebrity Edition” led out of an 8.5/12 for older-skewing “60 Minutes” at 7 p.m., which topped the night, and into dramas “NCIS: Los Angeles” (#1: 4.7/ 8) and “Madam Secretary” (#1: 3.9/ 7) from 9-11 p.m.

Elsewhere, NBC populated the 9-11 p.m. hour with a one-time edition of summer favorite “American Ninja Warrior,” which was off the charts at a mere 2.8/ 5 from 9-11 p.m. ABC featured two original episodes of “Shark Tank” (9 p.m.: #4: 1.9/ 3 at 9 p.m.; #2: 2.7/ 5 at 10 p.m.) out of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (#1: 3.7/ 6 at 8 p.m.). And The CW was at typical Sunday overnight levels care of “Supergirl” (#5: 1.1/ 2 at 8 p.m.) and “Charmed” (#5: 0.7/ 1 at 9 p.m.).
