Ratings Breakdown:
NBC scored another Sunday overnight victory, and will all fourth quarter, care of football. The Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers match-up averaged an approximate 12.4 rating/20 share in households, peaking in the 9 p.m. ET hour at a 13.0/21. All results for any live event, of course, are approximate.
Individual program results on CBS are estimated due to an approximate 43-minute primetime football overrun on the East Coast, and are available by half-hour in the below breakdown. Leading out of the season premiere of “60 Minutes” was the launch of family friendly drama “Gold Friended Me,” which was clearly sampled. Given the lead-in, however, do expect the audience skew to be heavily 50+ based.
Also on CBS was the season premiere of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” which remains a respectable Sunday option, and an encore telecast of the pilot episode of the “Magnum, P.I.” reboot.
Also opening their seasons were Fox’s animated “The Simpsons” (#3: 3.6/ 6 at 8 p.m.). “Bob’ Burgers” (#3: 1.9/ 3 at 8:30 p.m.) and tired “Family Guy” (#3: 1.9/ 3 at 9 p.m.), which led into the time period premiere of live action sitcom “Rel” at a 1.4/ 2 (#4) at 9:30 p.m. Comparably, “Rel” was 12 percent below year-ago time period occupant “Last Man on Earth” (1.6/ 3).
Veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” on ABC, meanwhile, launched its season with a third-place 3.1/ 5 in the household overnights in the Sunday 7 p.m. hour.
